Cue Card
You should say:
When it was
Who your friend is
What the truth was
And explain why you think it was important to tell your friend the truth
ANSWER
(When it was) It is always important to be honest and sincere to our friends, and I always maintain my honesty as much as I can. However, there was a time that I told a truth about myself that had been hidden for years. As far as I recall, this happened during my trip to Singapore.
(Who your friend is) I went on a trip to Singapore with a couple of my friends from my neighbourhood clique. This clique met up with my NTU Singapore clique for the first time at the NTU hall of residence. So there were around 10 people at that time. They are all my best friends in whom I put my trust and feel comfortable confiding.
(What the truth was) Long story short, I had a deep affection for one guy from my NTU clique. And then we realised that we clicked with each other well. I took the opportunity of my friends’ trip to Singapore to bring this relationship to light as I could see the likelihood of this relationship becoming a potential marriage in the future. Before that, no one from either of my neighbourhood or NTU cliques knew this fact.
(And explain why you think it was important to tell your friend the truth) It was important to tell my friends this truth because it was a prerequisite for our marriage later. If we had kept that relationship in the closet for a long time, it would have been negatively affected.
