1. (What the thing was)
Two years ago, when my ex-boyfriend and I had just graduated and entered the labor market, we luckily all got full-time employment. We each earned a modest amount, with him about a grade higher than me.
2. (Who wanted to borrow it from you)
However, we had very different views on money. I’m frugal, he was somewhat frivolous at that time. At the end of month, he often borrowed money from me and returned it as soon as payday came around.
3. (explain why you refused him/her)
However, after a while, I moved out from my parents’ house and so I had to pay a lot of bills by myself. I had savings,but these were strictly for a house deposit. I told him that moving out would mean that I wouldn’t be able to lend him money any more, but he asked again. I refused, and this escalated into an argument, with him accusing me of not helping when I could, and that doing this out of principle had hurt him. We couldn’t agree, and ended up breaking up and hating each other.
